Congrats to the Amy & Cody

We were lucky enough to recently get to document Amy & Cody’s wedding at the Thomas Center.  The Spanish Court was beautiful decorated by Betsy at the Plant Shoppe Florist.  And the happy couple have some fabulous friends.  There were some really funny stories about college life and a great portrait of Cody “Superman” Steeves and the new Amy “Superwoman” Steeves.  Very funny!  And a really touching anniversary dance for Amy’s grandparent who were married the longest.  Amy and Cody both had momentos from family that played an intimate roll in their special day.

After the wedding the happy couple enjoyed an Alaska cruise before heading back to Gainesville to pack up and move to Cary, NC where Cody will attend UNC.  Good luck guys!

Wow! How they have grown…

We did a family portrait for the Moss Family about 5 years ago.  Recently we ran into Linda Moss and her husband John at a YMCA soccer game and she said it was time to get the boys in the studio again.  Boys?  Kyle is taller than his mom and towers over me and Ryan is not short himself, especially considering he is in 5th grade.  Amazing how quickly they change.  And the great thing about Linda and John is that they know we will get more natural expressions when it is just us and them.  We had fun goofing off and hamming it up in the studio.

First family portrait

This was not how I envisioned the first family portrait for the Haeselers, but we are so happy we could help them document the first moment they got to hold their little girl, Ginny.  Earlier this afternoon they removed the tubes from Ginny and gave mom and dad a chance to hold their little girl who was born on May 28th.  When Rachel called last night to tell us that today might be the day, she said it felt like it was Christmas.  And what a great present it was.  Everyday I read Jason’s blog I wish there was something more we could do.  After seeing Gregg’s pictures, I am glad we were able to do this.  Rachel and Jason are an amazing couple and have already proven that Ginny has the best parents a little girl could ask for.  Ginny next big hurdle will be surgery to correct the TGA.  We will be keeping our fingers crossed that it happens soon, so the proud parents can finally take there little girl home.

Re-Elect Tom Jaworski

We recently did some portraits for the re-election campaign of Judge Tom Jaworski.    Tom has been a county judge since 2005 and is up for re-election.  Love this picture Gregg got of Tom.  It was really funny, because Tom assumed you show up with a camera, flash and just take a picture.  As he learned, to do a portrait properly it involves lighting and various other pieces of equipment.  To learn more about Tom and his campaign, visit his Facebook page Re-Elect Judge Tom Jaworski.  Good luck Tom.

Cervantes Twins

No you are not seeing double.  It is twin sisters Ellie and Paulina.  And those this is not one of the giggly cute pictures from the session it is my very favorite.  The girl’s body expression is just so cute and modelish.  Ellie with her arm behind her head and back like she is posing for a magazine (or is that Paulina?).  And then Pauline playing with her beads and giving that look like “I’m prettier”!   Love it.  And it is not something I could ever pose it is just what happened.  I love those types of pictures.

Please help Little Ginny!

We need you and your friends to help our littlest client Ginny Lee Haeseler!

Jason and Rachel Haeseler, who we love dearly, just had their first child, a baby girl named Ginny Lee.  Ginny was born on May 28th with both pulmonary hypertension and transposition of the great arteries (TGA), a congenital heart defect.  (Click here to learn more about TGA).  Although she is very sick, her condition is fixable.  In the meantime, she is getting great care at the NICU at Shands and from Children’s Miracle Network.  In approximately two weeks, Little Ginny will need to have surgery to correct the TGA.  Such a big surgery for such a little girl!

Please help Ginny and others in similar situations by donating blood at Life South.  As a thank you for helping our friends, the Haeselers, we will give all those who give blood from today until June 23rd, a complimentary portrait session and an 8×10 portrait.  Just go to one of the two main centers on either Newberry Rd. or 13th Street and mention our studio name when you register to give blood.  No strings attached.  We just really want to help Ginny.

If you need more information about where to go to donate blood or if you can not donate blood, but want to help, call our studio at 352-371-9735 or contact the studio by e-mail at photography35@aol.com.

Jr Anchors and the girls

Jr’s parents were in town a few weeks ago and wanted to cash in there Christmas present, Jr got them a gift certificate to the studio for a picture of them and their grandchildren.  What a great present- no exchanging, it always fits and it is a present they treasure forever.

My favorite pictures of the girls is this one with Jr and the girls.

Ruano Boys

We did family pictures with Aydan when he was about two.  He was a serious little boy, that loved golf and got a big grin when you mentioned hitting the links.  His brother, Hayes is the exact opposite.  You couldn’t get Hayes to stop giggling and smiling.  The boys were precious and we had a wonderful time with them in the studio and look forward to the next family picture.  I also just saw on facebook that Hayes is now walking.  Congrats Hayes!
