FAQ : Custom Sessions

What should I wear ?
We always have a design consultation prior to any portrait session. At this time we will determine your portrait style and suggest appropriate clothing.

Where will my portrait be taken ?
The choice is yours. While we specialize studio portraits, we are more than happy to photograph at a location (park, your home, beach, etc.) of your choosing.

How do I reserve a date and time for my portrait session ?
You can call or e-mail to find a time that fits your schedule. Once your session fee is paid, that slot is reserved for you.

How far in advance do I need to plan my portrait session ?
In most cases, we are booking sessions about 2 weeks from the time you pay your portrait session fee. During certain times of year, like Christmas or in the spring, you could have a wait of up to 4 weeks, especially for a weekend. We recommend reserving your date and time as soon as you decide to have a portrait created.

How long are portrait sessions ?
All sessions are different. Some take as little as 15 minutes, while other can take up to an hour. We always plan plenty of time in either case.

What if I need to cancel or change my appointment ?
Your session has been reserved exclusively for you. We do, however, understand that life happens. We will be happy to reschedule your appointment. Any subsequent changes may incur a change fee.

What if a family member is sick ?
We ask that if someone is sick on the day of your session, please reschedule.

What if my child scratched his face or has mosquito bites that are visible ?
Surface scratches, bruises and small rashes are generally not a problem. If there is swelling to a “boo-boo”, it may be difficult to disguise. Please give us a call and we can help guide you on a case-by-case basis.

Are nights and weekends available ?
Yes. However, these sessions are limited and have special restrictions.

Can my previews be posted online ?
We’d be happy to post your photos online for a small fee of $15.
